1. Take a strip of paper and wrap it around the base of your finger.
2. Use a pencil or pen to mark where the point at which the paper completes a circle around your finger.
3. Use a ruler to measure from the beginning to the mark.
Are rings made to order?
Yes, every ring is created by hand, bead by bead, in Chicago by me! After ordering a ring, I get to work creating the magnificent ring you ordered in the size you selected. Depending on volume, please allow about 1-2 weeks for shipping in the US. If I anticipate it might take a little longer, I’ll email you with an updated timeline.
How should I care for my ring?
Although these rings are strong durable, they’re also handmade with glass beads and thread! If you wash your hands while wearing the rings, that’s totally fine. However, for for longevity, I don’t recommend immersing them in water or exposing them to chemicals. Please don’t wear rings while swimming in the pool, washing the dishes, or taking a shower, for example. Also, I don’t know who needs to hear this, but please don’t step on them. TLDR; treat these rings like the beautiful and precious pieces they are!
What materials are used to create the rings?
Rings are made with 6 pound threshold Fireline thread for jewelry making, which is an ultra strong thread made by a company that also makes fishing line (Yes, I was impressed, too!). The beads I use are Miyuki Delica, Rocaille, and Toho size 15/0 glass seed beads. Size 15s are the smallest beads currently available, and they’re my preferred size to work with. All beads are manufactured with precision, which certainly lends to each ring’s elegance.
I heard you also make tapestries. How can I contact you for a commissioned piece?
I sure do! I started working with seedbeads by creating time-consuming tapestries in my spare time. Now that’s what I call Fine Art. I rarely know how the tapestry design will turn out before I begin, so it’s a very intuitive process that lets me stop thinking and follow the design as it unfolds.
If you’re interested in commissioning a tapestry, email thebeaddepartment@gmail.com. From there, we’ll discuss size, pricing, your color palette, and timing.
Do you issue refunds?
We don’t issue refunds. All sales are final.
However, if your ring arrives damaged or it’s not quite the right fit, I’ll be happy to send you a replacement! Simply email thebeaddepartment@gmail.com with more details and I’ll work with you to ensure you have the ring of your dreams.
